Welcome to Shiny Bonez, a personal brand that celebrates the vibrant beauty of Mexican culture through art and design. My name is Gabriel Maese, and I’m the creative force behind Shiny Bonez.

I grew up in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to Dallas, Texas, in eighth grade. My journey in design began at Syracuse University, where I studied architecture. After graduating, I embarked on a professional path in Boston, but like many, I faced unexpected changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Returning to Texas, I found an opportunity with a high-end furniture brand, where I discovered my passion for digital fabrication. Working with a CNC machine, I learned to bring intricate designs to life, and my skills evolved as I collaborated with talented carpenters and finishers to assemble beautiful, custom pieces.

In my free time, I began experimenting with my own artistic vision, focusing on the iconic Mexican skulls that resonate deeply with my heritage. This exploration blossomed into Shiny Bonez, where I create unique art and furniture that reflects the rich colors and traditions of Mexican culture. Each piece I design is infused with creativity, craftsmanship, and collaboration with the extremely talented people I am surrounded with.
